Meet THE BASA Awards JudgeS

Dr. Tejesh Reddy Singasani

Dr. Tejesh Reddy Singasani is a seasoned consultant specializing in AI and emerging tech. He has worked with an array of companies from small businesses to giants like Amazon. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the BASA Awards Independent Judging Panel. We spoke to him about his journey, insights on technology adoption, leadership, and what genuine recognition means for small businesses.

Tejesh, how would you describe what you do in just one line?

I help global enterprises streamline their marketing operations and drive digital transformation. Using technologies like AI and cloud solutions, I focus on delivering the right customer experience.

What are the biggest challenges you see for small businesses adopting new tech?

Adaptability is the biggest hurdle. When new tech arrives, there’s often uncertainty—what is it? Who will use it? But many tools today are designed to be user-friendly, with developers working hard behind the scenes to make adoption easier. If small businesses push past initial hesitation and focus on scaling, technology can help them reach goals faster.

"AI can help small businesses save time, reduce costs, and achieve in one or two years what might otherwise take three or four. That’s the real power of technology."

Was there a tipping point in your career when things started to click?

Definitely. On a project with my previous employer, I led a team implementing a centralized approach focused on reusability, if I created something, the whole team could use it. That saved time, cut costs, and improved consistency. That’s when I realized the real impact of my work.

What does creativity mean to you now?

Creativity is more than consistency—it’s growth. It’s about questioning the usual path. If you always go from point A to B the same way, is there a better route? That kind of thinking drives innovation and business growth.

The BASA Awards are independent and sponsorship-free. Why is that important for small business owners?

I’ve seen many awards. The BASA Awards stands out because of its focus on real impact. Knowing there’s no sponsorship and the process is authentic, that you take the time to understand nominees makes the recognition genuine and meaningful. That’s powerful and what drew me in.

“Independent recognition like the BASA Awards matters because it’s authentic, it’s about meaningful connections, not sponsorships or marketing.”

As a judge, what do you hope to see from participants? Any words of encouragement?

I look for enthusiasm and motivation. Awards matter if they help motivate your team. Bringing an award back to the office lifts morale. Only one can win, but all are striving and deserve support. If you don’t win, don’t be discouraged. Keep learning from others and improving.

You’ve just completed your PhD, congratulations! What’s next for you?

Thank you! I started my PhD driven by curiosity—to experience academic research fully. Now, I’m thinking about pursuing an MBA to grow my leadership skills and work with different people. There’s always room to grow, no matter what you’ve achieved.
