The BASA Awards® Panel of Judges comprises industry experts and passionate small business owners who genuinely understand real-life challenges and how small businesses work, from bootstrapping to multi-million organizations. 

Our judges are only interested in YOUR WORK, not your team size, client list, or the years you have been in operation. They will review and evaluate your entry fairly and without bias since they are genuinely interested in supporting small businesses' growth and innovation.

Furthermore, our strict evaluation process ensures that judges affiliated with any entry are not assigned categories where such entries are present.

Each entry submitted will be evaluated by a panel of up to six judges in accordance with their areas of expertise. The final score of each entry is the average score of the marks awarded by each jury member in the category. Learn about the Judging Criteria and Weights and the Score Normalization.

What Judges Get

  • We invite you to apply or nominate a colleague or prominent name in your industry to be a judge for the 2026 BASA Awards®. If you meet our judging panel criteria, you'll be assigned categories based on your area of expertise. Since all entries will be judged online, you will be able to review and rate them at your convenience between August and October 2026.

    Being a Judge means supporting small businesses' progress and innovation. You'll be able to gain knowledge on how small companies and entrepreneurs deal with challenges and succeed. You will also receive the following:

    • A blog post interview published on our website
    • Post mentions across our social media platforms thanking you for your contribution and support to small businesses
    • Press mentions
    • Opportunity to add this role to your LinkedIn profile
    • Networking with other judges and winners.
