TWITTER DAY
Have you started tweeting? Start now as we celebrate World Twitter Day. When it comes to starting a conversation around issues of national importance and understanding the way a nation breathes, Twitter is the leading as the world’s biggest micro blogging social media site. Launched on March 21, 2006, Twitter has, over the last 16 years, become the standard medium for gathering information and maintaining interactions among millions worldwide. Over time, Twitter has grown from being a simple and ineffective S.M.S. broadcasting application to a social media giant.
HISTORY OF OF TWITTER DAY
Twitter was birthed way back on March 21, 2006, in the spare office of a simple podcasting startup, Odeo, in Francisco, California, by a humble set of tech graduates whose idea has since changed the world of communication as we know it today. Have you ever imagined sharing information with multiple people? Typing an S.M.S. and sending it to 40404 will forward the message to all your friends. Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass 2006 were poor individuals with nothing to their name. They did not even have the domain name twitter.com, but 16 years later in 2022, each of them is a billionaire with several ongoing projects and achievements. Twitter now has an estimated 300 million active monthly users.
