They say, "If a man can do it, a woman can do it too, and sometimes even better." American Business Women's Day is strong evidence that women are equally as capable as men. The day shows how far we have come since the post-WWII era in recognizing the efforts of women in business associations, such as the American Business Women's Association, who work tirelessly in fighting for women's inclusion in the workplace. However, there is still a significant gap in breeding equality in business. As we support women at work, we need to help them find scholarships for vocational or technical courses that will enable them to add value to their space even more.
HISTORY OF AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S DAY
Women play a critical role in society in areas such as business. It s such a blessing that businessman Hilary Bufton Jr. from Kansas City sat with Shirkley Cupp, Irma Beisel, and Frances Stuckey and founded the American Business Women's Association when a full-time career was not acceptable for women.

The association was incorporated shortly after WWII when women had lost their jobs and were reminded that their primary responsibility was to their homes and family. Bufton Jr. felt that women were seeking and deserved equal opportunities in business, especially after gaining tremendous business knowledge during the war through necessity. He also believed that there was a need for a new organization for women.

The association has a mission to bring together businesswomen of different occupations and create opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow both professionally and personally, with a passion for breaking boundaries for women, advocating for equal rights, and paying across all facets of work. The Congressional resolution in 1983 and 1986 recognized American Business Women's Day. President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation that honors the increasing role played by women in the business world today and the accomplishments of businesswomen nationally and globally.
