MANUFACTURING DAY - OCTOBER 6, 2023
The American manufacturing sector annually celebrates Manufacturing Day on the first Friday of October, which is October 6 this year, as a month of inspirational experiences, especially for those who love making things with their mind and machines. The celebration will also focus on appreciating the Manufacturing sector's contribution to the U.S. economy.
MANUFACTURING DAY BY HISTORY
Fabricators and Manufacturers’ Association (F.M.A.) of the U.S. in 2011 sought to make the Manufacturing sector more accessible to the general public, especially America’s students, their parents, and the policymakers, as it opens its doors through events and exhibitions, among others.Â
 In October 2012, F.M.A. organized the first-ever Manufacturing Day as a starting point for over 200 events in the Midwest in the month. It was a very successful initiative and received active participation and appreciation from high school students, educators, parents, and other community members. It became a popular concept in the subsequent years when thousands of people participated in these events nationwide. During this celebration, from the first Friday to the end of the month, the sector organizes job fairs, exhibitions, shop floor walkthroughs, and seminars for students, educators, parents, and community influencers. Notably, the day kick-starts a full month of exhibiting America’s manufacturing prowess.
 The endeavor is driven by the National Association of Manufacturers (N.A.M.), The Manufacturing Institute, and various federal partners such as the U.S. Census Bureau. America’s tech and machine learners now throng the over 2,000 events organized annually through October through the National Manufacturing Day, with over 14,000 manufacturers participating in country-wide celebrations. This day also marks the beginning of a series of magical experiences that unfold throughout the month, especially for those interested in technology, such as bioengineers, machine technicians, data analysts, and robotic machinists.
