The Atlanta Trophy

The Trophy

The BASA Awards were formed in 2019, and the founders met in Atlanta for the annual meeting and goal setting. One of the topics discussed in the annual meeting was the trophy to honor the winners. They agreed that the BASA winner would be awarded a majestic trophy that would help encourage small business owners to participate in the awards and continue with their business excellence. A renowned sculptor, Ithaca, was then commissioned to design a trophy, depicting a woman reaching above her potential to touch the stars (per aspera ad astra).

The Atlanta

The 11 ½ inches tall and 1.1 pounds trophy is a sculpture of a woman using all her strength to reach the stars. The trophy illustrates the hardships and hard work the small business faces before gaining a stronghold in the business field. The trophy's name is Atlanta, named after the city in which it was founded and the Greek Goddess’s story. The Goddess was a human huntress, symbolizing the small business's courage in hunting for clients and success in business.
